Consult with Mr Gabriel

From my perspective, after consulting with Mr. Gabriel, I gained valuable insights into how to refine and focus my approach for my jewellery business. Here's what I gathered:

  1. Market Research (30%):
Mr. Gabriel emphasized the importance of starting with market research. I need to define my target audience and understand their preferences. This involves researching the trends in the jewelry market and identifying which types of jewelry are in demand. Additionally, I should look into the social media platforms my audience uses the most, as it will help me effectively reach them.

  2. Jewelry Focus & Product Direction (40%):
He advised me to narrow down the types of jewelry I want to focus on. Since there are so many options, I should focus on learning and creating pieces that are sellable and popular among my target audience. I need to find out what’s in demand and what people are interested in, which I can do by asking potential customers.

  3. Testing and Branding (30%):
I should test my business skills by creating products and selling them on social media, while also building my personal brand. This means telling the story behind my jewelry, which will help my customers connect with my brand and understand what makes it unique. This will also give me the opportunity to experiment with different techniques and see what resonates with my audience.

  4. Concerns about Branding:
One of my main concerns is standing out in a very saturated market. To address this, Mr. Gabriel suggested I focus on just a couple of things to differentiate my brand. I need to define what my brand stands for, including my brand name, and clarify the story behind my jewelry. This will help me find my unique voice in the crowded jewelry market.

  5. Ikigai:
The Ikigai concept was something Mr. Gabriel brought up to help me align my passions with what my audience wants and what is financially viable. It's about finding a balance between my interest, the target audience's needs, and making money. A good example of this could be targeting Polytechnic students if they align with my brand’s aesthetic and values.

  6. Next Steps for Final Presentation:
Lastly, I need to prepare an e-portfolio and a 15-18-minute presentation for my final interview, ensuring that the content is thorough and clearly communicates my vision for the business.

Overall, I learned that I need to focus on clear market research, refine my product direction, and solidify my brand story to truly stand out.
